James Purvis

James Purvis
Managing Director
James has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, both in the UK and USA and has held senior positions with global insurance brokers and a leading UK insurer in client management, technical and leadership roles.
He started his career at Sedgwick in 1984 as an Account Technician, where he handled large national and multinational clients. In 1998 he moved to the Sedgwick office in Philadelphia, USA where he held senior client management roles for a number of national and international companies.
Upon his return to the UK, James worked for Sedgwick and Willis in client management roles before joining Royal & SunAlliance Group (RSA) in 1999 to lead a team of Account Executives in the large client sector.
During his seven years at RSA, James led various client servicing and underwriting teams and was a Director of the UK Commercial Division. He also spent a period working directly for the Group’s Chief Executive.
As Principal Consultant at JPIC, James is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of all client projects.
Outside of work, James spends far too much time on a golf course chasing the elusive dream of competency, or on his bike trying to keep up with fellow MAMILS.
Neil Timberlake

Neil has underwriting, insurance broking and risk manager experience in a career spanning over 35 years.
He began his career as a trainee life underwriter for Equity & Law, before becoming a liability policy specialist and underwriter for Allstate Insurance Company.
In 1985 Neil moved into insurance broking with Jardine Matheson where he was responsible for the insurance programmes of major UK companies. He moved to Sedgwick in 1989, where he gained experience of placing and handling global insurance policies for multinational clients.
Furthering his understanding of insurance and risk impacts in industry, Neil joined Whitbread in 1995, as Assistant Risk Manager. Here, he qualified as a member of the Institute of Risk Management, winning the Overseas Scholarship in 2000. He also gained wide practical risk management experience, ranging from helping to design safe delivery vehicles for Whitbread Beer Company to devising a risk audit system for David Lloyd Leisure Clubs.
More recently, Neil has spent 16 years in the Real Estate industry, leading the insurance teams for both Columbia Threadneedle and Land Securities and helping to shape the corporate risk management framework for both organisations.
Outside of work, Neil and his wife are competitive ballroom dancers, winning the UK Senior Classical Sequence Championship and the Senior Sequence Dance National League titles in 2022.

Rob Patience

Rob Patience

Rob has over 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
He started work at the Prudential as a Property & Business Interruption underwriter in 1979, focusing on the Real Estate sector before moving into the broking sector in 1993, joining Sedgwick (now Marsh & McLennan).
For the next 27 years Rob worked in increasingly senior Client Relationship management roles on some of Marsh’s largest multi-national clients.
Rob has worked across multiple industry sectors including Real Estate, Retail, Hospitality, Sports, Leisure, Gaming, Banking, Engineering and Construction. His experience includes developing and managing complex global and multi-national insurance programmes across many lines of insurance including those with Captive Insurance Companies. In addition, Rob’s expertise includes identifying and recommending risk management mitigation strategies for non-insurable risk.
Rob has been a Consultant at JPIC since 2021, working on various risk and insurance-related client projects. Since 2021, he has also fulfilled the role of Head of Insurance for a large private UK Property Company.
Outside of work and a busy family life, Rob is a keen Cricket and Rugby Union fan and an enthusiastic if somewhat inconsistent golfer! He enjoys holidaying in sunnier climes than generally found in the UK, socialising with friends and family and good wine.

Praveen Sharma

Praveen Sharma
Consultant
Praveen is a Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years’ experience advising organisations on complex accounting, regulatory and tax matters, with particular expertise in global insurance programmes.
He has spent nearly two decades working with multinational organisations on the design and structure of global insurance programmes, specialising in regulatory compliance, premium allocation and premium-related taxation. Earlier in his career, Praveen spent 12 years with KPMG, where he advised non-life London Market businesses on corporate tax matters.
At JPIC Group, Praveen works with multinational organisations to independently review their global insurance arrangements, helping ensure programmes are fit for purpose, structured efficiently from a regulatory and tax perspective, and capable of responding to the needs of the wider business.
His approach focuses on transparency, consistency and value for money, identifying potential regulatory, tax and programme issues before they become unexpected or unbudgeted costs.

Vicky has been working with JPIC for a number of years, specifically the administration of the Real Estate Insurance Forum.
Vicky continues to support the firm with their digital marketing activities.
Outside of work Vicky has a busy family life ferrying around her young son to his many hobbies. Vicky enjoys spending time at festivals and trying the latest restaurants in her home town of Brighton.
